Drop in one PNG or a whole batch, and each is decoded to a canvas and re-exported as WebP using your browser’s native encoder. A quality slider (1–100) trades sharpness for smaller bytes, and every image gets a live before/after preview with the exact size change and a percentage saved badge. Transparency is preserved — WebP keeps the alpha channel, unlike JPEG. Download converted files one at a time, or grab them all in a single ZIP. An aggregate panel sums the original versus converted total and the overall savings across the batch. Files up to 25MB each are accepted, processing is local, and nothing is ever uploaded to a server.
How to Use
- 1Drop your PNG files onto the upload area (or click to browse) — several at once is fine, up to 25MB each.
- 2Drag the Quality slider to balance file size against fidelity; lower means a smaller WebP.
- 3Watch each card convert live, showing the original PNG size, the new WebP size, and the percentage saved.
- 4Click the download icon on any card to save that WebP, or use “Download all (.zip)” to grab the whole batch.
- 5Click “Try a sample” to test the conversion with a generated PNG, or “Clear” to start over.

Yes. WebP supports an alpha channel, so transparent areas in your PNG remain transparent after conversion. This is one of the main advantages of WebP over JPEG, which would flatten transparency onto a solid background.
