Convert JPG and JPEG photos to WebP for better compression, right in your browser. Each image is decoded to a canvas and re-encoded as WebP with your browser’s native encoder, so no plugin or upload is involved. A quality slider (1–100) lets you push the file smaller or keep more detail, and every photo shows a live preview alongside its original JPEG size, new WebP size, and the percentage saved. You can queue several photos at once — up to 25MB each — and a summary panel tallies the combined original versus converted size and the overall savings. Download converted images one by one, or export the whole batch as a single ZIP. Everything is processed locally; your photos are never sent to a server.
How to Use
- 1Drop your JPG/JPEG files on the upload area, or click to browse — multiple photos at once are supported.
- 2Adjust the Quality slider to trade file size for fidelity; lower values produce a smaller WebP.
- 3Each photo converts live, showing the source JPEG size, the resulting WebP size, and the savings percentage.
- 4Download an individual WebP from its card, or click “Download all (.zip)” to save the batch at once.
- 5Use “Try a sample” to preview a conversion, or “Clear” to remove everything and begin again.

WebP typically achieves smaller files than JPEG at a similar perceived quality, and it is supported by all modern browsers. For image-heavy pages this can meaningfully cut bandwidth and improve load times. Each converted card shows the exact savings so you can confirm the benefit per photo.
JPG is already lossy, and the WebP output here is also encoded lossily, so some detail is discarded based on the quality slider. At higher quality values the difference is usually imperceptible while the file gets smaller; lower values shrink it further at the cost of visible artifacts.
