How do I move and resize the crop area?

Drag anywhere inside the crop box to reposition it, and pull any of the handles to resize. When no aspect ratio is locked you get all eight handles (corners and edges); when a ratio is locked only the corner handles appear so the box stays proportional.

What aspect ratios can I lock?

Free (unconstrained), 1:1 for avatars, 4:3, 3:2, and 16:9 for landscape, plus the portrait ratios 3:4, 2:3, and 9:16. Picking a ratio recenters the box to fit and keeps it proportional as you resize.

Can I rotate or flip the image when cropping?

Yes. The toolbar has rotate-left and rotate-right buttons (90° steps) and horizontal and vertical flip toggles. These transforms are applied to the exported crop, and the live result panel reflects them immediately.

Does the rule-of-thirds grid affect the output?

No — the grid lines inside the crop box are a visual composition guide only. They help you align subjects to thirds but are never drawn into the exported image.

What does the result panel show before I download?

It renders the cropped image live and reports the exact output dimensions and file size. You can change the output format (keep original, JPEG, WebP, or PNG) and quality, then download — the crop is measured in true source pixels, not display pixels.

Is my image uploaded to be cropped?

No. The cropping, rotation, flipping, and re-encoding all happen locally in your browser via the canvas API. Your image never leaves your device, so it is safe for private or sensitive content.
