Text Statistics

Counts, averages, the full readability suite (Flesch, FK, Fog, SMOG, Coleman–Liau, ARI) with a consensus grade, top words, and an exportable report — live.

About this ToolHow it works, benefits & use cases

Text Statistics gives you a full readability and composition report the moment you paste text. Counts cover characters, words, sentences, and paragraphs, plus unique words, lexical density, and estimated reading and speaking time. The headline is a complete readability suite: Flesch Reading Ease with a plain-language level, then five grade-level indices — Flesch–Kincaid Grade, Gunning Fog, SMOG, Coleman–Liau, and Automated Readability — averaged into a single consensus grade so you do not have to reconcile them by hand. Advanced metrics break down average word and sentence length, average syllables per word, complex (3+ syllable) and monosyllabic word counts, and the longest word and sentence. A top-words chart ranks the most frequent meaningful words, a character-category panel splits letters, digits, spaces, punctuation, and other, and the whole thing exports as a plain-text report. It updates live in the browser with nothing uploaded.

How to Use

  1. 1Paste or type your text into the input area, or click "Load example" to see a sample analyzed.
  2. 2Watch the basic count cards (characters, words, sentences, paragraphs) populate as you type.
  3. 3Read the Flesch Reading Ease score and consensus grade, then expand the per-index readability rows.
  4. 4Scan the advanced statistics, top-words chart, and character-category breakdown below.
  5. 5Click "Copy report" or "Download .txt" to export the full statistics as a shareable text file.
